Three Ships Coffee: Virginia Beach

As I write this, I sit in Three Ships Coffee Roasters at 607 19th St in Virginia Beach (Oceanfront).

It's just what I needed; a rainy day at the cafe.
I've been working quite a bit this week.
My typical workday has been about eleven hours long.
To say the least, my body is sore and my nerves are worked.
I sliced out part of this day for schoolwork and coffee shops are my preferred work desk and library.
The smell of the coffee, the ambient chatter..., it's what I need to make it through this course content.
Right now, I'm taking a break to write this post.
The atmosphere has those little coffee shop charms I like.
Having wood-grained "somethings" in sight (whether it be furniture or decor),
stools, house plants,
a few folks chatting, a few folks working,
seats with outlets close by,
pastries, and mugs.
Let me say two of these things again:
mugs and seats with outlets close by...:

Mugs are welcoming, very cute, huggable, and add to the aura of a café.
I'm content when I'm sipping a to-go cup but something about a mug says: "Hey, we'd like you to have an ✨experience✨. Get comfy, and stay a while".
They also allow baristas to make a nice shape on the top of your drink; lids cover up that opportunity.
As for the seats....
Being a student in school, my laptop is usually dead or dying.
A coffee shop with seating placed near outlets is perfect — I can pop in and know I'm good to do what I set out to do.
That feels like a service to me, not just a convenience.

Also, I know it's unlikely that anybody cares about what I'm doing on my computer but still, it's nice to know strangers walking by cannot see my screen because I'm against a wall.
Sometimes, I show up to get work done and I'm hungry. When I wake up with the urge for productivity, I just leave the house without even thinking about eating.
Three Ships has my back. They have both breakfast and lunch foods for me.

That's about all I have to say for now... I'll be back here again. I'm curious what this place will be like in the summertime. I'm happy they had a sticker I could collect ❤️☕❤️
If the owners or staff ever stumble upon this, I hope they know these features are important in cafes for people like me.
Those folks clacking away at laptops, unable to get any work done at home because home is filled with the wrong type of distractions.
For the folks that just walk out without eating.
For the folks with ADHD.
Coffee shops like this just make studying easier and I love when a space feels thoughtfully designed for utility.
Anyway, I think local cafe owners have a hand in keeping third spaces alive and spaces people actually want to get out and hang out in for extended periods.
I appreciate what you've created and what you're welcoming.
